GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Gmc Treasure Hunt

Posted by: Jeff May 29 2008, 03:58 AM

I've got an idea for something on GMC. How about a GMC treasure hunt? The idea is something like placing clues throughout the forum that have to be discovered in order to figure out or solve a riddle. We could place some information in each forum so that people have to visit all of them to figure it out. Perhaps the winner gets a prize of some sort.

The whole idea is to solve the riddle but you have to prove that you have learned something new in order to claim it. It could be learning some new scale, theory or whatever. I think it would benefit the "hunters" by increasing their knowledge and also expose members to some facts or other places in the forum that they have never visited.

What do you think?

I think it's a cool idea, but make take some thought to get it to work smile.gif

Jeff - if you present your ideas a little more thoroughly to a moderator you will perhaps be able to launch this as a competition or similar? smile.gif

I'd suggest placing small easter eggs on the site. Dunno how, but things you must find and then press in order to advance to the next level of the treasure hunt. smile.gif
Like for instance a tiny smiley somewhere which when pressed takes you to the next step which is a quiz without life lines or something! laugh.gif

What a funny idea, thumbs up!

I suggest that GMC seniors put like 10 posts with attachments as mp3's of part of a tune here. Along side in the same post they put a riddle that explains the number of the part. Then we all must search for those parts and put them together. The first person who actually plays all parts in a correct order in a separate topic for uploads of results is the winner. Oh and if there are two persons that played everything correctly until the deadline then the best played part is the winning one smile.gif
