Hi guys. I'm looking to buy a new amp and im unsure of which to get. I would love some feedback from you guys. I currently have a peavey classic 30 which I'm selling and a roland cube 60. I want an amp thats full valve, got nice cleans and its distortion channel but be high gain. BTW it does not help talking bout mesa, bogner ( Handbuild british and american ) cos we dont get them in this country How about Peavey 6506+ for a mid priced hi gain amp? For a low budget amp there's Bugera 333 or 6262 (which are rip off of Peavey XXX and 6505+) -------------------- My bands homepage

Also an Engl - Powerball if you can but I think all Engl's do clean and hi-gain well. They should be a lot easier to get also then Bogners and such like as well .

Yeez and I thought be and MickeM had problems getting access to the more esoteric kit!
Perhaps have a look at the new Marshall JVM, pretty certain it's 4 channels and it does clean through to hi-gain. Huges and Kettner are good (MickeM has one so they must be ). Think someone has mentioned that Vox now do a hi gain version of one of their amps... Don't know if you can do this but can you consider maybe importing direct from the states? You'd probably need some form of transformer fitted though. Cheers, Tony -------------------- Get your music professionally mastered by anl AES registered Mastering Engineer. Ill have a go on that peavey 6505. What do you guys think about a Marshall JCM 2000 TSL 602 ? Another option is this B52 licenced amps, they sound nice tho i cant find any information on them ? I have owned a TSL rig for several years and let me tell you it is good at one thing and one thing only. Brit high Gain. The clean channel is one of the worst in the business and the TSL gives more gain than any sane person needs. If you REALLY like Brit High Gain just grab a DSL. If however you want one of the best cleans on the market go get a Fender. Almost any of their reissue series are good, the Vibrolux is also good and for ultimate versatility I have been having a lot of fun listening to their new Super-Sonic. I recently just spent the whole day at my local guitar shop with a couple buds and we tried everything from Fenders, Line6, Mesa, Marshall, Vox... etc. By far the best cleans were had by Fenders. And some of the better built-in distortion came out of one or two Vox combos and the Mesa. But the one thing we all admired was how well the Fender's took effects pedals without turning to mush. I ended up leaving with one and I wasn't even planning on it Hope that helped. It IS hard task to get both nice clean and hi-gain distortion in one amp.
Yeah, probably best way is to get some full tube Fender combo and then to add some pedal or rack unit for distortion.Maybe Maxon,Rocktron or som? -------------------- Youtube

Almost every Fender combo is awesome for clean, just try few models and see the prices.
Rocktron Gainiac 1 or 2 is not expensive unit without midi stuff, but sound really nice.Has 2 channels I think. Units like Voodoo Valve or Prophesy have full midi but they will cost you more. -------------------- Youtube

Ill go have a look at some fender amps then. Maby a hotrod deluxe or sumthing. Should work well since i only use fender strats. The voodoo valve looks nice. But the prophesy is more advanced tho. I see you use a prophecy muris ? What you think of it ? Yeah Prophesy is great unit, good sounding drive plus nice effects. I had Voodoo Valve as well, less expensive but still great one. -------------------- Youtube

Hmm i will try em out, wonder if we get it in this country ... Yes,almost same situation here in Bosnia,no authorized dealer for those brands. So I'm buying stuff on Ebay, mostly in Germany, and then I arrange shipping to Bosnia. -------------------- Youtube
