Ok GMC, I'm gonna buy a new axe! Needs to be powerful, doesn't need to have a good clean sound since I have my wonderful strat, but I want something that yells Metal! Give me your suggestions. Budget is 2000 euros.

Alder body for sure...
Any color suits but preference for red or black.
Original Floyd Rose, Ibanez Edge Pro are the only ones I accept. Or no tremolo.

I would go for ESP Eclipse, but maybe You are after something that looks more wicked than a Les Paul shape. Also if You would know exactly what You would like, maybe a custom guitar could be a good idea.

Maple Necktrough guitars with an alder body are quite common as metal guitars, so you might wanna try the ESP SV (RR type) and the horizon FR (mahagony wings though, Zsolts guitar) and any guitar from the Jackson series (King V, Randy Rhoads, Kelly (Explorer with floyd) and soloist series are all necktrhough maple in an alder body).

The horizon FR-II was the one I wanted but, after seeing a video on youtube, I started to doubt it. I've had the pleasure of testing the guitar myself but, for it's price, wanna make sure that I'm gonna do the right buy.

Take a walk down Denmark Street and go and try loads of instruments until you find one you like!!
I can't really add to what anyone else has said!
Except, that up in Kilburn is a shop called 'Vintage and rae' which could also be worth checking out!!!

try to find an Ibanez RGT

its discontinued prestige model, you will have money left over for pedals and other goodies

but with that kind of budget, take my advice,

do not settle for anything less than the best.

do not get anything korean made, indo made, or chinese made.

japanese + american are your best friend.

that excludes LTD guitars, non prestige ibanez (except golden era wink.gif )

check it:

Walk in to any of the Shops and talk to an assistant, explain (as you have here) what you're after and that you're not there to mess around. When they know that you have serious money to spend, they'll all be willing to help, especially if they make commission from a £1500/2000 sale!!!

My vote for ESP Eclipse guitars, they are awesome and their sound is excellent. For the money they are great, definitely check them out.

Ivan means the ESP eclipse series (their name for a Les Paul style guitar)
Esp offers them in two bodythickness-grades: thin or as thick as a real les paul

That is a really REALLY good point. How far off is that from a sweet MK with your specs? I swear there's a thread on Muris' board with some info on how to get a quote from M... uh, was it Mirka?

Anyway, highly skilled luthier.

Yeah i know, the point is...I don't know that much about guitars to have my own specs...Only have some pickup ideas, some bridge ideas and that's all...Also, don't know if Mirka is still making guitars
