I recently sold my japanesse Fender Thinline 69' tele, I played it for a few years in my younger years, and never really liked it. Sound was too thin, I didn't like the neck for some reason, and distortion never, ever sounded good... But that's just me. No one can answer that question, you really need to try the guitar yourself.
I've nothing against thinlines, they are just not for me. They are beautiful though. Edit: If I ever get a tele again, it would be a 52' vintage or an american standard. This post has been edited by Fran: Apr 15 2009, 01:59 PM -------------------- Guitars:

Standard Tele's are awesome guitars, and there is a reason that this guitar costs that much. If it is out of your budget, the possibly check out some good MIM Tele's, and try them out on some tube amp so you can get a good idea what you are looking for. Tele's with humbuckers can sound awesome as well.

thanks pal, they are some really nice pieces you got there! I checked out the G&L stuff, its pretty neat but seems quite rare up this end of the country (Its grim up north!). Ill post some pics of the Jackson, its actually a really nice guitar, feels very strat like in the neck for sure. Dare I mention eBay?? I had a quick look and there are a few Tribute/Legacy Tele's (Asat) on there! As well as the TC 90 there's also the JA 90 (Jimmy Adkins Signature) which is the same thinline body and P90's but with a standard single cutaway! There's also 3 or 4 different John 5 Sig models! I think it's all going to come down to what you like best for your budget too!!! If I was going for a Tele it wold be a custom build like Jose Mena like in his lesson Rock Pop Solo
Gorgeous looking and awsome sounding, (mainly down to Jose mind). This post has been edited by Crazyfret: Apr 16 2009, 11:48 AM -------------------- "I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order." Eric Morecambe

Thats a nice looking guitar, I think it would be out of my price range to be honest and i think it loses some of the traditional vibe im after by being a hot rod type tele custom. |
