Hey Everyone,
I've been trying to do this for a couple days. It gives you a piece of the album and you have to name what album it was and who made the album. Post which ones you got and which ones you didnt. The website is http://www.capitalradiogroup.com/content/c...rock_albumquiz/ Good luck! -------------------- But still I want answers, what's the point, what does all this mean? |

That gets us collectively at 43, only it wont accept my David Bowie -Alladin Sane for some reason, so my score is at 42.

by sorting through my vast record collection and painstakingly examining each cover and comparing with those on the quiz - adding to that my superior knowledge of art in album covers from 1970-1985...
nah, actually I cheated and googled them. -------------------- its not easy

how exactly did you manage to get those? what did you type in google OK = here is my patented tip for searching google. over the last few years the first hundred hits or so are often not the "best" hits based on what typed in the search but tend to be the most popular websites, - which are not necessarily the same but often yeild the correct result, however if the result your looking for is on a less popular site but a more suitable answer its going to be way down the listings.... SOOOO here is the tip - instead of searching the web, which is the default search...search groups. Do your search as normal and if not in the first few results - look above the search word box, and you will see the word WEB, NEWS, FROOGLE etc - and MORE - if groups is not there click more then click groups. That search will search all the news groups and there are usually a few discussions on there about most subjects with web links. anyone who does not know about newsgroups - you are missing one of the best things about the internet and I would guess you have not been online as long as I have - (since the early 90's) when there was nothing BUT newsgroups. Basically newsgroups are a similiar thing to these forums - there are over 70,000 of them on every possible subject you can think of. (including loads on guitars and music) Google can work much better than you think if you look around at what it can do, you may be amazed. Oh and one other tip, if you know a certain phrase is going to be on the site you are looking for, enclose the quote in " " "like this" - if its an unusual saying, such as a verse in poetry and its not on many sites - you will get much fewer hits. also, try searching with as many words that are unusual in the search and that will cut down your results - so put as many of the album names you have already got the answer to in google and I bet you would narrow the results right down to only websites with the answers - try it. ps this is where I found the best answers http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?t=487859 (drag your cursor over the blank looking list (they are in white font so as not to spoil) This post has been edited by fretdancer: Jan 8 2007, 10:42 AM -------------------- its not easy
