Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hey there!

This lesson has some planned timing "slips" that are hard to reproduce with similar feel. You clearly try to do so but as an effect you loose the sync between both hands. Patterns that are easy to fit to measure are just right as usual. Unfortunately it 's the exact opposite with faster runs. I still think you are trying to be to precise and that's what's "killing" you. As an affect you tense and play square which is definitely not your natural behavior knowing everything you did by far. But of course I totally sure that the path you walk will lead you to the goal you want to achive. It's a matter of lot's hours before general hand behavior starts to understand how these blues "fast runs ornemnts" work...and...there's not bettwer way to get them than, than the one you choose. Just try to put the "don't care mode and you'll see they will start to work with more fluency.

As for the tone it sound a little like direct line out recording. You were trying to emulte Fender amp blues tone but you overdo the trebl eq. For guitar actuall treble is more like 3-6 kHz (upper mids) so try to cut the presence and ad more on the treble know (it usually relates to mentioned frequency range)

Nicely done! Your technique is very good here. Hand synch is very good and your pick strikes are clean. The playing overall is quite good. You have a good sense of what is going on under your playing and the playing itself is very clean and distinct. You never go out of key, or miss something you are trying to hit.

Frankly you are quite a good blues player! In this case, almost too good as the original has a bit of "looseness" in it which is part of what gives it it's character. It's not easy to play with control, it's even harder to play with control and make it sound a bit out of control. Intentionally adding in the looseness of timing that the original has is something that is worth working on. It gives a casual flair to your playing and will make it sound organic and the opposite of clinical/sterile. It's blues after all so it should have a bit of a fluid/loose character to imho.
Still, this is a pretty small issue and taken just as a blues solo your playing here is top notch. The subtle time slipping will come with time and develop almost as an instinct rather than a technique. But it's certainly not enough for me to ding you on this lesson which is well played. Solid 7 from me.
Todd

Nice!

Rather than have you try to think about playing sloppier - I would once again advice you to rock away when playing - perform!! Sloppiness will come as a natural bi-product of that smile.gif And more importabntly, you will get so much more over all mojo from this approach.

Also - your guitar tone is in big need of midrange.

Over all your playing is solid as usual - but we really need to figure out a way for you to play music for us, and not just display a a practiced lesson. Once you take that step, you will sound like a full-fledged pro.

You get an 8 from me!
