specifically the 1974x 18w combo and the 2061x 20w head and cab with Celestion G12H speakers, I feel strangely drawn to these things of utter beauty and they seem fairly reasonable cost for handwired boutique alternatives.

Any thoguhts would be great, the low power is a slight concern but I'll need to try one first and see what its like.

thanks guys smile.gif

Certainly cool amps but considering you can get an Elmwood Modena for the same money I'd go for the Elmwood and dial in the Marshall sounds from there wink.gif

2061x 20w is made to produce that old school breakup grind from the days where it all started and to do it well. It's expensive but if you need exactly this sound without a big headroom for cleans, and just want a simple amp in more of a hi-fi fashion (no knobs, just sound), then it is great. Be aware that it is stripped down completely - no FX loop, only 1 tone knob, and 1 volume knob on every channel.
I would advise to check out some more guitar amps, like the Shure Badger 18W combo which is in a very similar price and performance range if you look at the specs. It has better features, and costs a bit more:

• 18w cathode-biased combo
• EL84 power tubes
• Tube rectifier
• 12AX7 preamp tubes
• Tube-buffered effects loop
• Power Scaling
• 1 - 12" Celestion Speaker

I checked out the badger demos, I love it but the price is frightening and its only single channel, seems you always have to compromise something if you want that proper vintage sound, I might see if there are any used ones about, I really like the power scaling thing as well.
