GMC Forum _ Introduce Yourself ! _ Hey guys im new

Hey everybody im new my name is Deandre , i play lead electric guitar, i have a bc rich warlock custom a awful 10wat marshal mg10cd amp, i like to play metal and rock.I was wondering if you guys could help me, i pick horibbly and i stumble over notes,i was wondering if u guys could tell me how i can train my skills using scales like c major scale and other stuff accending c scale then decending c scale then accending f scale and etc. sombody please help me im so horrible =O



And by the way that Jimmy guy is great i wish i could do that, unfortunetly i can but i hope chris can help me out step by step \,,/(O.o)\,,/ rock on .

Hey mate and welcome too GMC.

We all suck in the beginning, and some of us still do laugh.gif

Sounds to me like you need to slow down your playing and start thinking about your picking and fretting. Also make sure you're doing alternate picking constantly untill you got it down. And play as slow as you need to make sure every note sounds as it should. IF you try to speed it up you will pay for it later with sloppy technique.

To learn scales, simply play them slowly up and down, using strictly alternate picking and just do that untill you know where all the notes are.

Just give it time and it will come.
