Who needs a black metal name?
Ulrik as a boy's name is a variant of Ulric (English, Old German), and the meaning of Ulrik is "power of the wolf; power of the home".
The name Ulrik is a Teutonic baby name. In Teutonic the meaning of the name Ulrik is: Noble ruler.
The name Ulrik is a Danish baby name. In Danish the meaning of the name Ulrik is: Ruler of all.
Ulrik, from the Germanic name Odalric meaning "prosperity and power", from the element uodal "heritage" combined with ric "power"

Hey! Our names have similar meanings. Maybe I don't need a black metal name either.
Origin of the name Richard:
A borrowing from the Old French, Richard is derived from the Old High German Richart, a compound name composed from the elements rík, rīc (power, ruler) and hard (strong, brave, hardy): hence, "brave ruler." The name, introduced by the Normans, was borne by three kings of England. The first was Richard I (1157 - 99), called Richard the Lion-Hearted, the leader of the Third Crusade.
Just wanted to add that Ulrik sounds much more metal than Richard to me.

Not to mention Nixon tainted the name for all of us!! And that "tricky dick" was actually used in place on Richard (thank goodness that's long dead).

Heh, True , but that nickname is rarely used to address me more than once, at least not by anyone within my reach, and most times all it takes is a certain look to get the point across.
Although the main reason is that there was never any need for it.

I hear ya!! Stay out of striking distance for sure. If you happen to be carrying a guitar, that's a good bit of range!! It's a proud and storied name, borrowed from Kingship. I still wish Nixon's Birth name could have been Stanley.

Hahaha........You busted me
Actually it would be an interesting challenge
When you say metal, I remember a piece from a funny conversation between me and Cosmin:
Cosmin - What you will do when you need a rhythm part?
Monica - I play only the solo and I will hire a guy to make this
Cosmin - You will be with a band and you will say: just a moment I need to call somebody to play the rhythm part?
Monica - Hmmmmm........something like that
Cosmin commercial spot conclusion :"For a rhythm part please call at phone 07xx xxx xxx"
