Just as written in the topic description I'm trying to understand wether or not leaving some music equipment in the cold will damage it?

We are not speaking of extreme temperatures but the room I'm currently leaving my Amp + PA gets quite cold, I doubt it ever goes below 0°C or even gets close to that for that matter, and I always cover up the Amp, Speakers and mixer with some old sheets before we leave after playing.

Personally I always thought that the equipment would be able to handle temperatures like that quite well, I mean as long as the humidity is normal.
Either way reason I ask is just to not risk damaging the equipment!

I've been trying to figure out some nice way to record some of my attempts to play solos etc over backing tracks, would be really nice to be able to hear how it actually sounds in the end to be able to find out what needs improvement etc.

Now I've seen the Toneport ux2 mentioned all over the forums and I've noticed quite a few of the instructors use it to record as well.

However as I quite recently moved my amp away to a rehearsal place I need something at home as well to be able to play, are you able to easily use the Toneport to work like say a Pod? Is it easy to configure? Are you able to save sound configurations on it to be able to use it without connecting it to the computer?

Also last question, are you able to hook up and record a electronical drumkit with it?

Hope someone could clear some of this up for me.
Thanks.

Update:
As promised I tried recording something with it, I'm really bad with the recording software still so it's a rather rough mix!

Hope you like it anyway, Attached File  riffage_mixdown_final.mp3 ( 841.66K ) Number of downloads: 305

Hey guys,
I might have an opportunity picking up a second hand cream white Gibson Explorer to a very nice price, It's probably 10 years old or something in that line, the exterior is in a very good condition, not dents etc but the electronics are a bit messed up - this doesn't really matter tho' as I don't really plan on playing on it!
Since I'm a huge Metallica fanboy I've always wanted one to make it look like one of Hetfields old Explorers and just hang it up on the wall!

What I would need to do step one is remove the pickguard and plug up the screw holes, not even sure this is possible to do at home while still making it look good?

Hey guys,
I wasn't really sure where to post this, however, I would like some hints and recomendations on how to soundproof a room which would be used for rehearsing.

Basically me and some friends are turning an attic into a little rehearsing place, it's only a 3 piece band at this moment containg 2 guitars, vocals and drums.
I guess a good part about it is a electronic drumkit, meaning that the volume is quite controllable overall and the person living under the room is more or less never at home during the weekends when we will play.

Now I know this probably is not the best choice of a rehearsal place but it's literally the only place we could find right now, and all the furnished rehearsing studios around where we live are quite expensive.

The room is roughly 20-25m² and looks a little something like this, marked out the windows with blue, and the door with brown, outside the door you have a long hallway connected to the staircase so I assume you want to isolate that door as good as possible.
(yes yes, laugh all you want at my amazing paintskills!)

I was hoping some of you guys had some experience with sound isolation.
Naturally we don't intend to hire some professional or buy a lot of expensive stuff but we just want hints and guidelines of what to pay attention to and what kind of cheap materials etc we can use to isolate things as good as possible!

As the topic suggests, when I ordered my amp earlier I actually went right ahead and ordered another thing too.
It's a guitar I've had my eyes on for quite a couple of years, it plays great and just looks stunning.

I just couldn't resist it no more, so went ahead and ordered a ESP Eclipse I CTM VBK.
Only downside is that I will have to wait roughly a month to get it since their local supplier were out of stock, so they are waiting to get it in straight from ESP.

Can't wait to get it home.
