Well, I've been trying to work on timing, over the past (2) days with my guitar. My timing is pretty good without my guitar, as I can actually think consciously about it .
But here is an improvisation, over a well know carlton track. Tell me what you think. Some really sloppy, sorry about those few bits. tj edit: oops Bleh.mp3 ( 1.74MB ) Number of downloads: 319 This post has been edited by Tjchep: Dec 10 2008, 01:19 AM |

Everything I heard from you 'till now is the 'jam forever' type of thing. I know it's just an improv, but as Pedja adviced me, try to work on building a climax on your recordings, and use Q&A methods to make it more versatile. Hope this helps! |

Lukather_song.mp3 ( 1.69MB ) Number of downloads: 244 tj I like it alot, but it's exactly the same as the last one. You did some Q&A in the beginning, which I though was leading to something, but in the end it was still a 'jam forever' type of thing. Again, I love your playing, but it's always the same stuff that I hear. Hope this makes sense. |

What are you referring to here? And q&a like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5M9QSFMuQc This post has been edited by Tjchep: Dec 12 2008, 03:48 AM |

I'm just a bit confused on the bit of you saying it's the same as lastone.. What are you referring to here? And q&a like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5M9QSFMuQc It means that your tone is always the same, tempo always the same, kind of licks always the same. The vid you posted is like 5 mins long, the structure's bound to get a bit different then. I'm talking about usual collabs we do, like 20 sec to 1.5 minute takes. Hope it's clearer now!
