I have been clicking on people's usernames for quite a while - curious about who the gmc:ers really are...

However, it seems gmc:ers are really low with their profiles - very little info can be found there...

So I thought I'd set some good standards... I uploaded two pics to my profile (as if you needed more pictures of me ...wink.gif ) added date of birth, interest, location etc... Voilà...see how interesting I got. (Voilà is French and should not be pronounced voelay, rather voala) biggrin.gif

So does anyone feel like sharing some info on who they actually are in their profile...? unsure.gif

We could run a poll on who has the most interesting profile...maybe

Isn't the profile info entered right when you first sign up? I think some people might be shy
until they are more comfortable in the group (I know I was).

I like to see where people are from .... I am in the U.S. but are there mostly Eurpean
players in the Masterclass? Is there anyone from Australia?

It would be cool to to see a big map with all the 900 or so members represented by a dot.

I'll go back and re-do my profile with more detail... thanks Kris for the effort you put into
making the site cool..

There, I updated my profile even more, and I added a link in my signature to my YouTube guitar videos. I do find it funny that you seem to be the only one who can have a personal photo bigger than like 50 pixels! tongue.gif

But here I am:

I click on the profiles, and, some people dont mention a lot, -I never use my real last name, or get too specific about where I live. -Security issues. laugh.gif
But lets keep them up and encourage users to offer as much as they are comfortable.

I think raqroso's comment about new people being shy is spot-on: it can be quite intimidating (especially if, like me, you're a newbie to the guitar as well as this site!).

That said, I'm also a little reticent for the reason's that PickNGrin suggested. I'm an admin on another forum and have learned the hard way not to give out too much personal info!

That said, everyone on this site seems really friendly - so I'm happy to put a bit of personal info on my profile (and will probably add more later)... but it's good advice for people to be careful in general on the Internet. Sad, but true sad.gif

Yes you are right - no point in giving out to much information - such as address etc. A little information that's not "personally identifiable" was more what I was referring too - information that could make discussions a little more interesting. smile.gif

Oh and by the way, my name is not Kristofer Dahl - if anyone tells you so don't believe them! biggrin.gif
