I think it is better to play a song you are comfortable with.

Good choice, I think you should just play and enjoy if it's one of your first gigs.

Nothing wrong with staying with the original, but if you do want to write a solo to show off a bit, I suggest you really nail the solo down, and feel very comfortable with it. This will be much more effective for the audience (that often doesn't really know a lot about playing guitar and making music, just wants to hear something cool). cheers mate

i thoght about making a solo and it sounds like a cool way to add a little interest to the song but the problom is i have no idea how to make a nu metal solo or a system style solo, theres only 1 guitar solo in the entire album, any ideas where should i start? https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/system...n-style-lesson/ This might help, Peace man. -------------------- Join Me On the Lyrics Board !

Just experiement and analyze the stuff other great bands do, try to do something similar, but insert couple of ideas of your own. If it is too fast - simplify, but keep it structured and cool to listen! -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE

You made a very good choice! Its always better to play a cool and easy song, then to struggle with a hard one. Often those easy songs are hit songs and audience will love it. Its your job to make a good show so I think you made a really good and smart choice!
