I personally think they are the best Non-Metal band around right now (some people consider some of their stuff metal i dont, its not particularly heavy, its much more Prog than anything, with exceptions from their newr stuff).
Their new album that came out this year Good Appolo Im Burning Star IV, Volume II: No World For Tommorrow is one of my top Favorites (along with their other 3)
All of their lyrics are based off of a story written by the lead singer/guitarist which is being displayed through a comic book (The Amory Wars) (some of their lyrics are very strange, and the story is why)

If youve never heard of them, heres a link to my favorite song by them, Gravemakers & Gunslingers.

And I can perfectly understand that.
It irks me though when people say that bands SUCK simply because it isnt their thing, or call them gay, etc.
I dont particularly care for Children of Bodom or Job For A Cowboy simply because of their lead singers, they both have very talented Guitarists but the way they scream/throat/or whatever they do just isnt my style (not that i dont like certain screaming bands, like early Avenged Sevenfold it just has to have a certain quality for me to be able to like it.)
Ive never seen anybody simply say that a band sucks here and I really appreciate that.

I like them biggrin.gif
By no means im a diehard fan but I do occasionally listen to some of their songs.
(Welcome Home, No World for Tommorow, Gravemakers and Gunslingers) to name a few smile.gif

Some of my friends are MAJOR fans but I think of Coheed as music you listen to when you get sick of some of your other stuff.

Overall the band is pretty good and I would recommend their stuff biggrin.gif

i don't mind them, i loved "in keeping secrets of silent earth" but i really didn't like "no world for tommorrow" i borrowed it off a friend and its just not the same, not as catchy i guess, i only enjoyed the occasional track. but overall as a band i really like them
