Hey guys! This is the video for the collab. I love the final song, it's very addictive. I can have it in repeat for a long time!

The video is cool, mostly to illustrate a bit the tune. It's a pity that Mertay is our leader here and we couldn't combine to get a video from him, maybe we can do a new version in the future.

Let me know what you think!

Congrats everyone!

Gab I'm well aware you're so experienced with making collab. video's but damn you made such a good work in a short time!

Listening through tiny speakers here on vacation (and sounded fine) but I also liked it a lot, has a structure to it that flows so nice as if part of a production. Great arrangement smile.gif

As for me and video, yeah I'm a bit shy on that department to be honest one won't even find a single picture of me on my instagram account biggrin.gif I'll give thought about it next time smile.gif

Well, with any instrument, a lot depends on how it was recorded. As with any audio signal, the way the signal is sculpted on capture impacts how it sounds on playback. So even if we were all playing Trumbones it would still depend a lot on how each was recorded. Using one EQ preset only helps when the signal is the same typically. Given the wide array of tones on hand I had a pretty good idea that this would be a challenge. I must say GABE has truly done some amazing work to get all of these to sound like they all belong in the same mix. Cheers for that! smile.gif

its actually uniqe to electric guitar as an instrument, if it were a different instrument we could just use a matching eq and all would be fine but with distorted guitar this change is considered altering the tone smile.gif

Could just be a shot of your guitar and playing. Doesn't have to full view of you smile.gif

GREAT VID!!!! This turned out really well. HUGE Props to gabe for putting this together. I knew it would be hard but I knew he could pull it off GABE RAWKS!!!!!! It's amazing that this collab from so long ago is still alive and kicking and turning in to a new thing@

It's too bad Mertay is camera shy as it would have been cool to have him playing.

MERTAY: As Ben mentioned, You don't have to put your face in the shot BTW, you can show just your hands and the guitar. I do that all the time. Do you have a camera or web cam? Even a cell phone would work. Do you have any video editing experience? That keeps some people out of it. Some folks have a hard time synching audio and vid. With just a clap one can get a good synch. Whatever the issue I hope we can resolve it so you can join us in the next vid!

Very true! The EQ Match in LOGIC is very handy and usually can come very close to tone matching two sources. It's quite a ways away from just applying an eq preset to multiple sources as this actually scans a source file for reference. It's a very spiff tool. Sort of like the AMP MATCH feature in bias but based entirely on EQ.

P.S. I've been sharing this all over FACEBOOK in various groups that I'm in so you guys may run across it on there as well. If you are in this vid, please do share it on your social media to let folks see how spiff it turned out. Very proud to be in on this one smile.gif I'm going to email the author of the backing to share it with him. This is the third collab that is based on his backing which he created years ago.

I do have a not so great webcam for skype use, years ago I did something for darius as he was holding a competition and joined for support. I'll probably manage next time, worst case ask you guys for help smile.gif

What do you think about the gt-1 in high-gain? I probably over did some eq and gain adjustments on this one (first time took it serious to make a recording preset) but with enough tweaking felt like I managed to get past that "boss sound" you hate biggrin.gif

I also shared the collab. vid. on facebook groups and forums (related to boss gt-1 in my case). They get to hear and ask about your presets, compare to other gmc'ers tones, learn about GMC and you guys as teachers...win-win for everybody so yeah its important to share with the rest of the guitar community.

Thanks mate! I'm glad to know that you've liked the mix and the final work. I've really enjoyed doing it, and I have to say that your guitar melodies and tone are superb man. I hope to see you on future takes!

About the camera thing, don't take it so seriously, start with short angles and you'll become more and more comfortable. We are here to have fun! wink.gif

Thanks a lot friend for the nice words, for the backing recommendation and for being part of this one as always. It's a honour to have such a killer player in these collabs.

I've loved doing this.
