Disagree There where a lot darker times before computer games where even invented, violents is in human nature. People need to separate real from pretend themselves (and effects of real life actions), if they can't do this then anything could affect them (including games, tv, books, other people, or even without them). Maturity plays a part into this, but to be mature has nothing to do about age, a 12 year old can be more mature compared to a 24 year old - restriction labels therefore fail. Also to go the other way, over protecting someone from becoming "volient", creates an illusion of the real world which can lead to rebellion, and is known to create psychos and sociopaths. -------------------- Play Games Arcade Take a break, Play Games! What everyone has said makes sense, I agree 100% with Mudbone's answer. I can back that up, being a hardcore gamer, I have shot 100,000s and meleed with high level violences and blood on max graphics... yet in a real fist fight honestly I'm useless and try avoid conflict. Also playing hours of Guitar Hero, has not made me a better guitar player in real life, except for rhythm timing maybe? I agreed to making a better solider (but don't approve to it), if you have a look at games like Americans Army, designed for army recruitment.
As for blood, I'm neutral. As for swearing level, I'm also neutral. As for ideas level, that might of increased but reactions to that are low / almost zero. As for shooting a gun, in multiplayer games I can get top on the scoreboard, as for real life gone hunting once, missed most shots. What has changed? Addiction to games. You need to know when to take breaks. Still take exercise, etc. Social level... has actually increased with multiplayer and MORPGs, in-game chat. Logic skills have improved majorly. Hand / Eye coordination has increased hugely. Memory level has improved slightly. 20/20 eye vision, degrading over time. I mostly agree, but cannot answer completely, because some questions are statements, almost questions with answers. It is important to understand that violence in video games can affect people behavior a LOT. This said, playing violent video games can indeed change your behavior, but that doesn't mean you get more violent. On contrary, you could get more numb to violence. Both can be serious if it goes into extreme.
