Hi guys,
I really enjoyed my first 6 months here at GMC from june till december 2008. Then I didn`t renew my membership ( I don`t recall if there's been a reason at all...) but focused on playing with my band, the Rocking Sixties. Yeah, we're a coverband, covering anything from the 60's until now (unfortunately, as I must say). I am 28 years old, my bandmembers are all older than 50, sometimes 60, but it's really cool to play with them. But I'm having trouble to convince them that Bon Jovi's "it's my life" is not a good song for us...
Well, I've made great improvements during my time here at GMC. Being a rhythm guitar player for like 16 years, I'm pretty good at rhythm stuff and a quick study too.
I really want to get deeper into playing alternative and metal rhythm, but also solo stuff, as a contrast to the stuff I play in my band (which I also really love, but it's not that much of a challenge).
And I really like the community here, everone is friendly and always ready to answer any question.
So it's great to be back!

Unfortunately there is no place where you can listen to our music, besides some live concerts in Münster, Germany. Since we only do cover-songs there is always a problem with copyright law, so we can't upload songs onto a website. Or can we? Has anyone experience with this?
Great to read all your comments, feels good to be back!
My goal is to take part in the Rec program regularly, once I figured out how to record things properly...the last try with my cellphone wasn`t that great, I guess...check it out:

I'm going to download reaper and will try to figure out how to work with it and how to sync audio and video afterwards.

You can upload to YouTube smile.gif As long as you write who originally has the song, it's fine.
Nice playing, and cool guitar. Is it a Carvin?

Are you sure? Maybe I'll ask someone to videotape our next gig...you know, people keep asking "do you have a cd?" and we can only reply "no, it's too expensive with all the copyright stuff...".
The guitar is an oakland ZX1200, made in Japan sometime in the 70's. I have an old picture at home where my Dad plays this guitar. He gave it to me when I was 12 years old and taught me to play rhythm guitar on it. It's still my favourite guitar!

YouTube has the correct licensing, so it should be alright to upload your own covers. I don't know how it is to release cover CD's.. smile.gif

That is great to hear! I hope I end up with a guitar that means as much to me one day as well smile.gif
