How To Record?, Got no Line in

Hello fella's

Here's one for you;

I want to record some stuff to my laptop, but u havnt got a line in on it,
does anyone have an idea to record it without buying all kinds of stuff?

By the way by microphonejack it sounds crap tongue.gif

If you want anything to sound decent then you need a soundcard. You have USB cards for $80. If you have a mic input you can use that for "line in" but you might have some sync problems and a lot of noise with those built-in cards.

UX1 tone ports are great beginner items mate, they usually come bundled with pod farm which is enitrely useable for some guitar sounds, in particular I find the Marshall JCM emulations to be pretty good. Only problem with line 6 stuff is that it is quite limited in terms of flexibility with other software packages such as Guitar Rig etc, it only really works well ith its native software.
If you have the money to put into a decent external interface then the EMU 404 is a fantastic interface with lots of bundled software, that would be my choice all day long.

I use Line 6 Toneport UX2. Pod Studio (as its called now) GX will be a great solution for portable recording. Its cheap and it sounds very good + its very easy to use and dial in cool tones...

you know with Line 6 UX2. can you create backing tracks and insert drums>? so if i have my logitech pro 9000 will the UX2 then do me to record myself playing? and like i said to create backing tracks to play along to???
