hey i was wondering if you guys could help me out, im currently learning a song called snow (hey oh) by Red hot chili peppers, and i just cant seem to get that main riff down to full speed i can play it slower then the original speed and when learning a new piece i tend to learn it slower and then build the speed up until i can play it at the real speed, but with this song i just cant play it full speed.

Any suggestions like what to practice?

And i also get a pain on the side part of my left hand just bellow the pinky any ideas why as well?

thx for the help

hey julz -

i would say use a metronome to build up your speed... keep increasing the bpm as you go and practice and practice the speed you just can't get.

on the note of your hand... you need to take a break when that starts happening or you can severely hurt yourself permanently... not good!!!

About your fingers, you should always warm up with some slow guitar excerises. Kris shows some good methods in the "How to practice" video.
