Motown funk lesson by Bogdan Radovic
Original lesson: http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/motown_funk/
Equipment used:
Squire Jazzbass Deluxe
MXR M-80 bass d.i+
Presonus Audiobox
Reaper
Sony Handycam
Sony Vegas
My first bass take for the REC program.
Due to my noobiness in Reaper, I wasn`t able to change the EQ on the bass tone, and I found out after rendering that the output was pretty low. Still, I`m pretty satisfied compared to my previous attempts to record bass :-)

I think this is really good take. There were minor issues with rhythm when doing faster fills but nothing serious. Bogdan can probably tell you more than I can. There were some buzzy notes. I am not sure whether you don't press the string hard enough or your frets are a bit worn out. Anyway I liked your feel for this groove and this take to me sounded really good. Well done.
edit: I like your t-shirt

Very good take on the bass rec! What I notice with Rhythm placement is that you are pushing it forward and rushing a bit. It should be tighter for this type of track. Try finding the pocket. You will find it just a cent behind the beat (metronome click). What I would suggest is to try backing off a little and playing layed back. Try playing slower on purpose and see if you can feel the pocket (right spot for notes). Sound was pretty good! Maybe there is some over the top buzz on D and G strings, try raising them on the bridge a bit (Action). I really like your posture and feel in this one! Good job man!
