Most death metal fans already know this one but it's too awesome to leave unposted.

Just the solo

And the whole song at slighly worse quality

Yes. Disgusting song titles... good stuff (or maybe not you decide)

Best solo in death metal maybe... I think it's a bit mechanic. Not really my thing tongue.gif

His style is just sooo weird, he riffs like a machine; totally unemotional and sterile and the he shreds out a neoclassical melodic Yngwie-Malmsteen-Tribute solo (his biggest influence) over this extreme technical death metal -.-

...and even that is not sure....

The best solo I know is the solo in Deep Peace with Devin Townsend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nq-S9FzmcyI

The solo starts about 4:29, but you should listen to the whole song.

Devin is AWESOME

Posted by: David Wallimann Jan 20 2009, 03:18 PM

I love Devin too. :-)

Yeah, Muhammed is the man, I love Necrophagist smile.gif

I don't know if any solo can be called the best solo in the world, but still that solo is very cool

My favourite death metal-solo is the second solo in This Means War by Morbid Angel.

I don't think anything is the best solo ever either. I was just joking/exaggerating with the title.

This is a sin, I don't like Necrophagist really at all... I even saw them live, they do nothing for me. It's emotionless music to my ears. Same thing with Meshuggah , can't stand them but everyone seems to love them.

I love Necrophagist!

(But my sig told you that)
Theres a reason its called Technical Death Metal...

Im a huge metal head, but the best solo ever has to be the second solo on comfortably numb... sooo much feeling in that solo and the phrasing is just awesome... its like his guitar is singing to you

solo starts at 4:50

All I can say is
Listen to John Petrucci, he got a wide specter of solos, both fast ones and solos with emotion smile.gif

Posted by: Nazgul Jan 20 2009, 10:04 PM

The second solo from Master Of Puppets is definitely my favourite. smile.gif

FERMENTED OFFAL DISCAHRGE!!!

You have no Idea how much I love that song, I've seen them live 3 times and each time that solo comes in I just frickin' lose it. Its beautiful, technical, melodic, and one of the most catchy and memorable solos to me. I love that song, the band, and LOVE LOVE LOVE the solo cool.gif

Devin rocks! Thats an amazing song and solo smile.gif

Settling for just 1 solo to be called the very best is an impossible task.
