Brody Dalle is probably my favourite female singer. The stuff she done with 'The Distillers' was epic.
also an honourable mention for Doro Pesch.

I also like this band! They have some really cool songs... Closer to their style, I like the album Celebrity Skin by Hole.

I like the sound of female voices with metal.. it works very well. In terms of taste I guess I prefer the beauty of female fronted Symphonic Metal like Nightwish or Within Temptation.. I don't own any WT music but I like what I've heard.

Well Dimmu Borgir normally does not have female vocals, Gateways is just with a guest performance.
I like the "Greatness" of their music, that comes with the whole symphony thing.

yeah totally. That is a great album. the title track especially is excellent, the lyrics really suit Courtney's voice perfectly.

Im much the same, I like what Ive heard from those two bands but I dont actually own any of their albums.... although I do tend to go for the more 'dirty' type female fronted bands dunno what that says about me!

This is my fave...
Posted by: Mudbone Jun 21 2012, 04:24 AM
I like the female vocals in the middle of the Guns N Roses song Rocket Queen I'm sure Christian does as well haha
All kidding aside, I really like female vocals in bands such as Nightwish, where the vocalist utilizes the characteristics unique to her gender. However, I'm not really a fan of female vocalists that try to sound hard and tough, I just don't find it appealing. I guess I like my women to be girly. Oh well

I love female vocals and here's a little (but very diverse) list of the ladies whose voices I like:
..I will post more, but this is what comes to mind right now

Wow Cosmin, thanks for the post Enya is always so pleasant to listen to. The video clip was very nice also. I don't think I am a big fan of girls screaming. As Mudbone said, I also like my women to be girly The Apocalyptica video was interesting. I don't know yet if I like it or not hehe

LOVE EM! It's not everyones's cup of tea of course. Some folks, especially some Metal Folks, don't like CLEAN SINGING at all, much less women doing actual technical/operatic singing. But personally, I've heard one death grunt too many and they all sort of start sounding the same. Of course, similar stones can be thrown at operatic female vocalists as well in terms of similarity of sound. But yeah, I dig Epica, Nightwish etc. But I didn't used to like any of that stuff at all. Just took me a while. The more I study music, the more I appreciate bigger/grander compositions it seems. For the longest time, I just wanted guitar/drums/bass.

Of those mentioned, I like the Distillers. Some others seem I don't know, painful to listen to. I watch youtube videos while exercising, and the lady's are particularly good and taking the pain away (I go at a fast pace).
I came across this a few months ago, by accident. I don't watch TV, so I did not know who Zooey Deshanel was. She is an actress, better known in the US than Europe. A few years about a guitarist named M. Ward collaborated with her and toured, producing two CD's of songs she had written. Actually her sister was better known as an actress until recently, when Zooey's music got her more attention. She is pretty retro, but I think they have a lot of nice songs.
Here is one that she did with another actor, who appeared with her in a movie (500 days of Summer). I think it is neat for them to be that talented, actors who also have musical talent.

Big fan of Lynne Jackaman from Saint Jude. This track in particular is totally awesome.
sadly Adam Green the guitarist died earlier this year, great performance from both of them in this vid.

I missed a thread about females for a few weeks now...wow, what's wrong with me?
It might surprise some of you (Ben, mudbone, Cosmin) that I really dig females and female vocals. Many of the rockchicks I like have been mentioned, like Brody Dalle, Alissa White-Glutz, Maria Brink, Amy Lee, Luciana Segovia and so on. Angela Gossow and Doro Pesch are also great (and german ). And that Pink video was just epic! Let me throw in some more great female vocalists from different genres:
Marta Jandova, czech singer of the german band Die Happy (Gabriel knows them as their style is somewhat close to Cirse), great live band and Marta is a real entertainer.
Another awesome german band is Jennifer Rostock, and yes, I think the singer is hot. This was recorded at the Southside Festival last weekend, I even found myself in the video since I was pretty close to the stage. Nevermind finding me though
Next band: The Pretty Reckless. I've heard that Taylor Momsen is always good for bad news...nevertheless, I guess she is a great singer.
Halestorm...good band, amazing singer. I especially enjoy the part that starts at 2.30:
Skunk Anansie...Skin has such an amazing voice:
The Band Perry, I think I discovered them here in a thread:
The singer from Fit For Rivals has a really cool voice:
And the chick from The Dirty Youth sounds like Katy Perry with better music...
And finally, somebody has to drop the G-bomb...I think Lady Gaga can sing, though it only really shows when she is performing unplugged:
I could think of many more...but let's leave it at that. For now.
Christian

I used to listen to this girl a lot back in the eighties. Even before she did this duet with Ozzy.
