"Show us what YOU have learned" - Competition!

It's time for a new competition, and this time it's about showing us what you've learned here at GMC!
You should make a video recording, 20 to 60 seconds in length showing your skills and talk a bit about the things you like about GMC!
It will last one month as usual, and you have a chance to win some great prizes.

Let us start with the best part of the competition, the prizes


1st prize: Electro Harmonix Big Muff, and Dunlop CryBaby Original





2nd Prize: Electro Harmonix Big Muff Russia PI





3rd prize: Boss DS-1




If that's not great prizes, I don't know what is!!!


In the 4 weeks the competition lasts you'll have to make/record a video with yourself playing guitar and show what you've learned here at GMC as well as talk a bit about the positive sides of this community.
The thing is, we might use this for a promotional video out of this as well. So make it a good one


We will start a thread for people who want to enter - you must post a link to your video on Youtube.


The videos should be posted on youtube! If you don't have an account... ... ...create one

This is a great example of what we want, only shorter as this is a bit long



Rules:

1. All contestants must have a video uploaded to www.youtube.com within the length of the competition.
2. Videos should be between 20 and 60 seconds in length.
3. Final winners will be chosen by an open GMC poll.
4. All entries must be finished by October 15th, voting will be for one week after that date.
5. No Cash or alternative prizes will be offered
6. In the event of a tie, a tiebreaker activity will be employed to break the deadlock.

You can just show something which represents the level you were at before GMC - and then show something cool which represnts the level you are at now!

You know what.. I've not been too active on these forums but I have been on GMC and damn its really helped.
I've only been here like 3 months 4 months not entirely sure and I'm pretty impressed by my own progress...
So I think I will make a video
When I've finished my solo that is.

Thanks guys I have learned a lot more , but 1 minute is to short to show all of it, I have a lot of videos and I recommend to all gmc students to record yourselfs , thats the way to see that you have improved, in my video you can see what I improved from december 2007 till today.

Another thing I have learnd from our instructors is to buy awesome toys , I bought that strat a couple of months and I can't be more happy with it.

Also, one question. Can the video be a little longer than 60sec? Like video 1.30 and the actually guitar playing is 60 seconds maximum? It seems short with 60s total.

Err, Do you think it can be like 80 seconds? I just cant seem to fit in what i'd like into only 60 seconds. .

Or would that be me breaking the rules by too much.

60 seconds! You just need to learn to edit better

We don't want them to be too long as we may well make a promo vid out of them, and a vid like that needs to be bite sized - 60 seconds is a looong time really

ive learned how to spend every spare moment of my day stareing at these bloody fourms and reading away! so can a video of me stareing at my computer be justified as an entry? great competition idea! can't wait to see the entry.. im totally jealous of that crybaby 1st prize! i really want 1

I would record something if I had one, but I think I need to skip this one.

I haven't got very good recording material, just a webcam and a microphone... I don't think the FPS of my webcam are good for a smooth vid! Nvm, thought the date was 15th of October, wut late!^^
