Should Have Done My Research Better

A few years ago I picked up an Epiphone Dot, a pretty decent guitar for 400eur. Recently I took the gloss off with a little success and also put a new wiring harness and thornbucker pickups in it.

Sounds great but I'm not a fan of the neck profile which is a flattish D

Just this week I find out there is an Epiphone 335 which is a little more expensive but has a round C shape neck.

I wish I did my research and bought that instead.

I'm thinking about buying the 335 and putting the old guitar back to original and giving it away to someone

How Much Of A Pain Is Ilok?

I've always avoided ilok plugins as I've seen a lot of people bitch about problems with them, either corrupt usb ilok keys or licences not being recognised etc

Mobile Phone For Streaming Or Recording

Many of us record ourselves with our webcams, for GMC as well as our Only Fans pages (jk)

This allows you to stream of record your phone video directly to your computer with the appropriate usb cable

This will make it easier to have some picture in picture with webcam and phone using OBS or similar software. Or if your phone gives you better quality video than your webcam then you can use it instead.

What Are Your 2021 Musical Goals?

Mine?

I know I'm a person that makes plans and doesn't follow through for various reasons, but I want to release an EP this year, I have a friend just about to release their 3rd album and another friend who is releasing her 1st single.

Funny thing I kind of helped with her single even if she didn't use my ideas and stuff. Then I got a little bitter and was like, she can't even play guitar in time, all the hard work was done by other people. I then shut myself up.
She wrote the song and was wise enough to get other people on board to help. Rather than struggle and give up which is my normal approach, I think I'll use hers.

Struggle with drum programming, use a basic drum track and pay someone to record drums, same with bass, and probably mixing and mastering too.

I'd love to do it all myself but I'd love to have a finished EP even more.

I'll be back in my mentoring with Gab to help shape the songs as I write them and pre-production them.
