Most of us have heard about or seen the Vids of Steven Seagal's collection and certain other Actors and people not known as musicians as such. I came across these vids last night purely by accident and I had no idea that Richard Gere was into Guitar! Just feast your eyes on these beauties that ALL get played!!!!

Yeah, he has an outstanding collection and has for a long time now.

I was playing a gig for the "Directors Guild of America" in the early 90s and he was there. After he was done giving a speech and hanging out and taking pictures with the industry folk he came over to the band and talked music, musicians and gear for the rest of the night. Didn't ask to play, didn't brag about his collection. In fact he barely mentioned it. I didn't really think much about it at the time as I wasn't into collecting and I was playing my Ibanez Artist 2629 (335 style). Anyway, cool guy.
*I think Cindy Crawford made a crack about the collecting when they were splitting up. Something about being more into old guitars than into her.

He doesn't make a big deal about it. He's a relatively private person in general (as much as a Hollywood superstar can be).
Unlike Steven Seagal, who constantly talks about guitars and his collection and shows up at the blues jams out here and pretty much just urinates all over the jam.
