This is my dog Sketcher - he's a flatcoated retriever and he likes to do agility. In fact, he managed to win the British Agility Association dog of the year award this year - here's a picture of him with some of his winnings :

A little lioness. Maybe it wasn't Denmark, but I have no pets to show, so I improvised

Hehe, we don't keep pets in the apartment, but my women has a dog, he's a spoiled little creature, dangerous, brave, and good dog
No dogs allowed in my building but my folks have a great dog that I helped raise so I think of him as "my dog". His name is Schatzie which means "beloved one" on German. He is a German Spitz also known as an American Eskimo. Looks a bit like a domesticated wolf with white fur.

@ Todd: Your dog's name is Schatzi? How cool is that? I don't have a pet right now, my dwarf hamster Homer (some of you might remember him) died in June...but I am going to get me a new hamster around chrsitmas...I just love these little guys
Posted by: TesttubeMammoth Oct 9 2011, 09:02 PM
Actually I have two dogs! Here's the other one!
His name is Bruno - he hasn't won any prizes but he is an awesome dog all the same. He was a rescue dog and we go him when he was 4, about six years ago.

Great looking pets guys. I'm sure they lots of fun to have around
Testtube, I think it's great that you rescue dogs. My girlfriend and I want to start a dog rescue (assuming a large one) when we are living a few km's out of the city... in their own building of course ha ha

Christian, I wouldn't advise having another hamster...don't get me wrong, but they are too frail and you'll go through the same bad times when he'll eventually pass out too soon
Buy something larger..a kittie maybe?

Posted by: Gitarrero Oct 10 2011, 06:39 PM
@Cosmin: I know these cute little dwarf hamsters only live like 1,5 or 2 years, but due to some allergies I can't have a dog or a cat (besides, I'm not a cat guy at all, though they always seem to like me). And it's not like my world comes crashing down when my hamster dies. Actually, with my last two hamsters I always knew when their time would come and I was happy they didn't get sick but simply died in their sleep a couple of hours after eating stuff out of my hands. So I will definitely get another hamster

Great looking best friends everyone! Until now, we haven't had a pet, but have been talking about getting a dog to accompany us on hikes throught the forest and various other outings. Gonna be a great subject for my other new hobby to. I just ordered a DSLR from Amazon.

I am really enjoying seeing all these great pet pics! Fun topic. You sure learn about a person when you see their pet(s). Here's our little beast after an apparently exhausting day at the beach. He is 3 years old & his name is Bentley.

Here are my two jolly he and she
Ingo (half Caucasian Shepherd - his dad is the biggest dog I have EVER seen live in my whole life and his mom is a German Shepherd) and Rita - in the second pic, has arrived in my family once the bassplayer in my old band, found her at his doorstep in a little blanket as a puppy so I decided to take her in.

The big one is Lupi! the white/grey one is T-shirt and the little one is Cold. Lupi had more 2 sons, but my dad gave them away.

mmm where to start..... since a few years my wife and I have a very nice hobbie, we pick up dogs that are in the streets with diseases and all type of things , we heal and "pimp" them and then find a nice suitable family. (and this is why if you have me on facebook i always post photos of dogs)
the two dogs that i kept are:
Blackie:
and Wilson (my wife picked him up from a dangerous route)
alltogether
Nowadays we are healing a little female dog that i rescued from a neighbour, (a teenager who was carrying her to the park to let her died, (he had founded the dog in the street exausted)). This little dogs had a big injurie on her face and a terrible rotten smell. the problem was that in that injurie and a fly had put eggs, so worms grew up and started to eat the host. it is a common "illness" on animals. Unfourtunately these worms ate one of her eyes and were starting with the other. This boy though that the dog had no salvation, I convinced him to give it to me and I took her to the vet. And we are healing her with the vet since that day. this happened two weeks ago and it's amazing how well she is recovering.
WATCH OUT THE NEXT PHOTOS ARE NOT "EASY" TO SEE
I CALLED HER : TOTA "T100" AND YOU'LL SEE WHY....
first week:
second week:
then i will post some photos when she is finally recovered

Thank you guys, you should try to do this once. the feeling you get when you save and change an animal's life is something unique!
I always share my and others stories to inspire people to do things (as once i was inspired by others and started to help). Unfortunately I live in a country where people choose to watch stupid tv programmes than see what's going on outside their houses.

Thats one fearsome little chihuahua there Alex! Great vid, it reminded me of my two chihuahuas, Paco and Chiquita. They both look just like the little guy in your video, except they are black and white. He really seems to like playing with that water bottle, I will have to try giving a water bottle to my two dogs and see what happens!

Schatzi: Our family puppy. His name means "Beloved One" in German. As he is a German puppy Achtung Schatzi! Schnell! What's the German word for "Treat/Snack?"
