It would be schizophrenic if Jazz players would play Djent! laugh.gif

Hehe nice man! Alex has used it on that jam with Jack Thammarat .

It's even his signature model 8 string!

It's a small world!! That last guy JOSH MARTIN plays in a local Atlanta band called LITTLE TYBEE who played my friends live music video podcast show indieatl.com. It was the first time I'd heard him play actually. He's quite good smile.gif

Here is little tybee playing a music festival that my buddy Matt put together.

That's really really cool Todd, I've been getting into them lately. I really love their style especially Josh's guitar playing. There's so much unconventional funk-esque style in his playing. I find it really tasteful.

He is quite the player to be sure smile.gif He takes a very unique approach and has a syncretic/eclectic style that incorporates many elements together. I was there for the first recording they did on indieatl.com ( I was shooting stills that day) and I saw his 7 string Ibanez and Orange Amp and I was thinking METAL!!! But then he played and it was quite different. I noticed the Charlie Parker influence and then the Stanley Jordan thing came through, and I was amazed.

He seems to take cue from Jazz horn players and use it in his lead work which makes his "voice" very unique. I actually noticed some of his influence in your SIX DEMON BAG solo if I"m not Mistaken? smile.gif

Small world after all eh?

I just emailed him to ask him to make us a video breaking down some of his techniques BTW smile.gif Hope he gets back to me. You'd be surprised how far you can get in life with a friendly email to a nice person smile.gif

Here is a vid from the guy who built the guitar he's using currently. It's a custom 8 and looks spiff!!

That is OUTSTANDING. I actually hadn't heard of Josh Martin until long after(2 weeks?) I recorded the SIX DEMON BAG solo. But I probably share a lot of his own influences(Stanley Jordan and maybe most notably Scott Mishoe).

I asked him on youtube to break down a very specific technique as well. Hope I hear back from him!
