Hello GMC i would love some help for something i wanna try ^^ i pretty much suck at guitar soloing as im most of a rythm player, so i would love ALL members and instructors of GMC to help me make a learning program of 50-100 (maybe) guitar solos to learn to become a guitar solo god, starting from the very beginning, covering as many styles and technics as possible and maybe also some lessons from here please everyone come with maybe 10 or more solos starting with one of the first you learned and then just move the level higher and higher

I hope as many people as possible will help me with this project ^^ when im done with putting the program together or make some ''prototypes'' i will inforn you and i will try to hold you guys updated (;

You can start with for example classic punk solos from bands such as The Clash and Sex Pistols then jump to AC/DC, Metallica, Pink Floyd, then some Hendrix maybe, then some Guns and Roses, then some Scorpions, then some Megadeth, the some Dream Theater xD no idea man. sorry

Cool idea!! The first solo that I learnt was "Wasting love" by Iron Maiden because it was a metal solo but it was easy. Other one that I learnt first was "Smells like teen spirit" by Nirvana. After some training I could start to play other solos by Maiden (The Trooper, Aces High, The rime of the ancient mariner) Then I started to learn solos by Blues Saraceno, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen and John Petrucci.. finally Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Kotzen.

First Solo from Knockin on heavens door, GnR.

Its a very slow solo but a fantastic way to improve bendings and vibrato. Helps a lot.

Another Suggestion: Try to rec your solos on a backing track and listen yourself. That's an essential job.

Check also the solo from "a Secret Place" - MEgadeth it's an easy solo and cool to work

Yeah, you could try some easy solos from Slash, that will help you achieve the things that people usually neglect at the beginning: major pentatonic, vibrato and bending.

Try some classic rock stuff. They are simple but require your fingers to be really really strong with all those bendy licks. Once your fingers are strong, you can play easily more modern stuff and they will sound tighter.

Afdter learning the 5 pentatonic shapes of A Minor, i did these lead guitar lessons, all in the key of A min and it really shows you how to move up and down on the fretboard..., Beginner level and then Internediate...

It might be a little played out, but the solo to Stairway to Heaven is still one of the greatest, compositionally, in my opinion.

I would start with the first solo from Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd as its super tasty and highly melodic.. which to me means it's easy to remember. As luck would have it there is even a lesson here on GMC for it

Try Muris Varajic's lessons here at GMC! They're fun and there's a wide rang of styles covered. For example: Rocking tune, Beginner solo in D, Lydian phrasing, Minor vs. Major etc.

nothing else matters was the first solo i learnt! My advice is also to start learning small pieces of music from discs , try for example the main theme of "always with me always with you" or "crying" both from satriani or some licks and melody from santana, iron maiden or slash
