GMC Forum _ Luciana Segovia (Singing Instructor) _ Way Too Trebly Voice

Posted by: OrganisedConfusion Feb 26 2008, 12:32 PM

My singing is way too treble based. I can get way more treble singing than any of my friends who are vocalists but I can't get bass in there which really effects my ability to sing many songs well. How do I go about adding more bass to my vocals. I can sing Judas Priest really well and Muse but I can't do things like Foo Fighters say that are mid range vocals.

Hi!

I think I understand you. You need to add notes into your register and This is what I answered to a similar question

there's an only way for that...practicing scales....

The average practice range of the singer should be three octaves. If you don't have three octaves of practice range, it means the instrument itself lacks development. Development is establiched thought working on scales.
The scales will teach the vocal cords what to do on every given pitch so that, if you're practicing on a regular basis, the cord will eventually remember what to do on their own when singing songs.

Hope it helps
Luciana
