GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Ever So Slightly

Posted by: Ryan Mar 17 2009, 08:00 PM

I have been pushing frets down really lightly, and picking very lightly these recent days. Just trying to stay completely relaxed. But doing this i started to get NH popping out when releasing the frets, any advice on stopping it?

What's NH?

You have 2 ways:

1-Mute with left hand
2-Mute with right hand

Both ways you have to stop the string from bringing on the harmonics.

Let me know if this helped you wink.gif

I believe it means Natural Harmonics.

Yes, this is about muting the strings as Ramiro said smile.gif

Muting is the key as everyone said, combine right & left hand muting whenever you have a chance, muting is something that you have to do all the time in general.

If you are doing things to lightly like you mentioned, I recommend you press a bit stronger with your left hand. Pay attention when lifting your fingers, thats what causes natural harmonics !
