I think that it would be a great idea to have some "luthier lesson". For instance a lesson that explains how to welding a cable, change pickups, add a killswitch booster or similar or similar.
I scalloped my JEM freatboard and I want to do the same with my Ibanez RG 550 so I think it would be a good idea to record all this procedure and explain it in a lesson. (and I will change my pickups and add more controllers in my guitar, hehe)...

What do you think about this idea ??


And also would be awesome to have a professional luthier that show us how to do all this complicated things and to help us if we decide to aply this knowledge

For me it's a good idea. Especially about a professional luthier. I don't have so many experience as luthier to do this type of lessons

yes, the best option is to have a professional Luthier, but if we cannot have a professional one I could do some basic lessons

The idea is great, would like to see some tips

In the meantime, does anyone have a tip how to remove the stains on fretboard, if you check my electric guitar lessons you'll se what I mean. I tried with lemon, and with various cleaning cleaning liquids but couldn't remove it.

I do it with FastFret and cloth,isn't easiest job but is possible.
Main thing it to remove it every time you change strings,
don't wait too long..

This is a great idea, I remember when I needed advice when I wanted to change my pickups etc. so I think this kinds of lessons would be really helpful!

The stains were there when I bought the guitar in 1995, the guitar was made in 89. I don't think they are getting any worse but would like to remove them for good if possible. I'll try with fastfret, thanks for the tip

I think that almost any music related topic would work - if produced with the students in mind. In other words it needs to be very easy to understand!

yeah, that's the idea, students are the most important, so I think they would thank that we show how to do basic things on the guitar (not only how to change strings but also basic modifications )

Great idea on building the guitars, and soldering. I know how to solder, maybe some cable soldering lessons would be appropriate?

Well, I know how to solder a cable, but don't really know how to change a pot. I'll consider about doing this kind of lesson. It will be interesting.

well, I know to solder a cable and I did it, but I know how to change a pot but I never did it !! hehe, but no problem cos next month I will change my old guitar's one so I could do this review XD

Well, in fact my project is more ambicious, hehehe, I'm gonna change pickups and volume pot and I will add 2 next pots for extra pickups combination, and add another as a killswitch And I'm gonna scalloped it and install a "tremol-YES" an invention from a Spanish luthier (similar to the tremol-NO but without blocking the bridge )

hehe, well, you must wait till next month 'cos now I found another house in Girona (where I'm living with my girlfriend), and this 25th February I sign the renting contract (and I must pay 3000 € !!! OMG, I don't know if I will have money to pass this month !!! XD) so when I be in my new home I will start this project.

Well, this is the basic diagram (by Demolition Tatto, www.guitarraprofesional.com)... well, I want to add the killswitch, but that's not the most difficult

I surly won't!! Didn't I tell you I actually got my computer on fire once ? Yeah , I bought a new video card and company didn't have it available that particular day so they gave me a temporary one to install I always install components by myself in my computer..So ok , I took the card ..plugged it in the AGP slot (agp card there) and screwed everything in place..Leaved the side of my tower open as I always do..Put it on desk, connect all cables..I press the big power button and viola!! My motherboard is on fire and smell is everywhere!!!!! There where actual flames in there ...I quickly pulled out the power cable from behind the tower and flames extinguished... Its was quite an interesting experience..Company repaired my motherboard (I don't know how , its still in my computer now) and gave me new video card (that one was fried) because I was under warranty (they didn't like that) and we politely discontinued our deal

Hey Juan, do you like capacitors on volume pot? I've just installed one on my custom 7 string guitar, I've completely re-made the electronics with copper tape, van de hul silver cables cts pot and bla bla bla : 3 way tele switch, 2 humbackers, 1 volume and a kill switch. The volume pot now works as an high pass filter duo to the capacitor, and when I lower the volume, my pick-up will sound like single coils, I'm planning to remove it

mmm well, I didn't know this... so your guitar didn't have this capacitors ?? mmm I look the Ibanez diagrams and all diagrams I watch have them, so I didn't think in remove them
I really don't have electronic knowledge I just know the basics and I know how to solder and change cables
