Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Good Stuff!!! I like how you are really getting in to playing this. I can feel the vibe of you diggin this track and it makes the entire thing better. Your technique is Solid. Good muting, good timing, good striking. It's clear you have put the time in the wood shed!! My only complaint is that it could use a bit more "groove. It feels just a pinch "stiff". This is something that will change and improve as you continue to get better and better!!! So despite being a bit stiff, it's still a fine performance you get an 8 from me!!!

I'd like to invite you to my SHRED BOOTCAMP if you would like to give it a go!! You can always give it a try and see if it's right for you. There is no long term commitment or anything. You can stop any time. If you do want to give it a go just shoot me a personal message and we will get you setup!

Todd

Hi Nico!

This is a good first take of this lesson. You can play everything at tempo, tight and clean. There are basically 2 things that I want you to keep in mind for the next days of practice and take.

- Once again, you have tuning issues. It seems that the 3rd and/or second strings are not well tuned. Have you checked tuning before recording?

- You can get more from the original lesson's energy. Check our how Adrian moves his right hand while playing. Notice how he hits the strings stronger, and how his whole right arm moves following the groove. This extra energy will improve your groove and dynamics. That's the next step!

I'll give you a 5 but if your guitar would be well tuned, this would mean a 7 or maybe 8.

Keep on practicing! smile.gif

Tuning is once again messing up a fine take of yours!

Just like last time - you do a lot of things right here - it's just that we can't enjoy it when the chords and notes don't sound like they should.

Hey there!

Oldchool rock like AC/DC is actually harder to play than it looks like. IT requires strong strumming and great muting skills of your left hand. You need to learn how to lay your left hand fingers, so they mute the strings you don't want to hear. This way you can freely strum across all six strings, and the muted ones will add some percussive flavor. You do it very gently and it will not make it sound really good.

Here's another time when tuning issues take away lot's of your performance quality. You really need to spend some time on knwoing your instrument and tuning techniques. It is also not as simple as it is being shown.

Third general issue here is the tone. AC/DC use vintage kind of distortion but definitely not a blurry/muddy one. You is more like Big Muff while you should search for plexi/super lead /spl100/ jtm45 marshall kind of simulation/amp being mostly played through a top boost channel. When you have wrong type of tone, you will strugge to not being able to get the sound you expect, no matter what kind of magic you'll do with your hands. It is very important at your level, to be able to establish if any external factor doesn't stop you from crossing some point of playing tone or similar skill.
