I was planning to buy the RG3727 that I mentioned in another thread, but now I've stumbled upon the RG752mfs, and I'm kind of tempted by that. Pretty much the same specs, it seems, though on Ibanezwiki it says RG3727 is handcrafted?

vs.

Price is pretty much the same if depending on the different shops.

Hmmm. What do you say? Any experience with these guitars? smile.gif

The wiki says there are 39 known to be made and 12 sold in USA, good luck finding reviews smile.gif

From spec.s only the fretboard wood and trem. systems are different. Both trem. systems are very solid, the lo-pro is a proven design (which I also use) and has a really sensitive but smooth feel in use. Sucks a bit of highs from tone like many other floyd-type systems.

The Edge-zero if I remember correct has easy intonation advantage, to me it has a bit "heavyer" feel in use. The ZPS3 lets you adjust the float, basically say your high-E string broke with this system your tuning won't be so badly affected like traditional floyd-type systems. Ths also alows lesser tone loss compared to the lo-pro or other floyd type systems.

Can't say one is better than the other, would only guess by spec.s the rg3727 would have a bit more balanced-mid tone on a clean amp when compared side-by-side while the rg752 might have a preferable feel for a shredder tongue.gif

I gotta say you have fine taste in guitars smile.gif The Ibby you own is a rare bird and these are along that line. As was mentioned, not mass produced models. These guitars are special IMHO. Rare, beautiful, perfect hand finished neck, the whole package. Finding one will be a challenge, finding reviews may be a challenge as well. However, it's worth the patience as you just don't see these. They are unicorn guitars. You read about them. Maybe seem someone famous playing them, but rarely see them in the wild. Either guitar would serve you well. That black is Evil but that violin finish has serious beauty and it's a "spot" build. Which means there are so few of them, that they are not even included in the Ibanez Catalogue. I'd be hard pressed to choose.

Wish I could be more help. It may come down to which one you can locate! I finally found a red version of your current Ibanez. It's got some chips in the paint, but I'm a player, not a collector, so I don 't really care. Going to try to snag it!

Congrats on locating one of those "Spot" builds!!! they are hard as crap to even locate! There are so few of them, and folks dont let them go. I hear they are just to perfect to re sell. It's a great looking guitar. Granted it costs more than a decent used car, but it's a rare guitar that would add immense value and prestige to any Ibby collection. That one is a keeper. I'd say request to be buried with it when the time comes. Or bequeath it to me smile.gif
