I want to put some humbuckers in my strat so that I can play clean then whop it into big time overdrive. Are the above pickups acceptable for this?
(I dont want to start routing the guitar out to accomodate Real Humbuckers)
Thank you
Tony

They will do the job wink.gif You might also look in to the EMG Active pickups that fit in the single coil slot or the Fender Active Lace Sensor Pickups. No matter what, get to a music shop and try out a guitar with the pickups you are planning on before you buy them. Pickup remorse is a terrible thing.

Hot rails are great pickups! I've got one in my first electric (a Squier strat) and this is what it sounds like now:

You should check out the Chopper pickup from DiMarzio, I've heard good things about it. You may also want to consider the Super Distortion S if you want a high output pickup in the bridge. What kind of music do you plan on playing?

Hi,
To Todd; Thanks for the options I will certainly check'em out.

To Bear Rose; Nice production re the video and the pickups sound really good much better than the grainy single coils. Thanks for the post.

To Mudbone; I do some of the 5 to 6 type lessons here but the strat single coils just don't do it, or maybe I don't know how to get a good distortion sound with 'em.

To Sollness; Nice one mate thanks.

Cheers Tony
