Hello, check this picture out. The string tenstion between body and bridge, if played with high distortion, it will make a cringing harmonic sound, really loud nasty harmonics The thing is, if you play a lot of modern metal in for example Drop B or C, with that tone, those harmonics are heard something with the vibrations This user put a foam beneath that tension I put a cloth but I didnt help that much I made a previous post about this, but this is a big error with a string through body guitar used for modern metal that tension will cause such harmonics to be sounded, that you have to focus more on muting than actually playing anyone else knew about this? And is there some other way to solve this? |

Usually a problem of headstocks as the strings there can be longer distance from nut but todays manufacturers solved that long ago.
If you're certain about the problem (check all the screws, specially the 2 bolts for straps on the body of guitar) 2 things come to my mind, first is installing something like this (gibson sort of part) right after those holes. Risk is strings might break easier, definitly get a luthiers advice before doing this; http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Satch0922/...C_0027.jpg.html Edit; Second, go to a luthier and make him check/change the neck to body angle (not truss-rod related but the bolts that hold the neck). There is a chance it might solve it. But yeah most easy is to wrap a rope or something to them if you don't care for visual. This post has been edited by Mertay: Jan 7 2016, 12:46 PM |

Edit; Second, go to a luthier This is always a very good advice. It's bit like going to the doctor if you feel ill. |
