Great review!
You know i think alot of people overlook Crate as a good guitar amp.I have a g130C XL head and 2 4''12 crate cabinets and have always loved them.I havent tryed out the amp you have reviewed but im sure if it's like the other's it's pretty nice.Good Job
I htink Crate is underrated, why i like them a bit more i suppose, but there products are defintly top knotch!
Sweet review, i have only ever thought of Crate as low end stuff but maybe ill definatly test em out next time im at the gitbox shop.
My friend owns it and it does sound very good. but as he said this SOB is heavy.
its about 50-75 lbs probably.
Nice review, man. Youve made me consider getting one.
If you dont mind Uncreator I gotta add some stuff.
Sorry if im wrong but I'm pretty sure the amp can use wheels you just gotta by them. Have you ever looked under the amp? im pretty sure they got the holes for the wheels.
And you can easily achieve the classic rock distortion with this amp provided the right pedals of course.
I just gotta say this amp is great by itself but it sounds unbelievable with a extended cab. Most of the time im using this amp pluged into my valveking cab and I must say this might be all I ever need. Not as god as the tubbed head but dam does it come close. This thing is also very durable and built like a rock. I've even gigged with this thing a few times and sounded great.
I've had this amp for atleast a year i think and still use it everyday. Great value for this amp.
It has spot where you can put the wheels in yes, it just doesnt come with them.
I just havent been able to get a satisfactory classic rock tone with the amp itself, if you have a pedal for it then i imagine it would work.
Does this amp give negative feedback at high volume and gain or do i have to buy a noise suspenser?
When i play at real high volumes its only bad if your not playing, i reccomend a noise gate.
yes! i own this amp and i love it ! i bought mine on ebay and got it for only $150 and i went into the local music store the following week and saw the exact same amp for $500 ! but even then i'd say its worth every penny. the tones are phenomenal and the foot pedal for changing the channel is a nice addition its got spring reverb too and i leave it on all the time, it adds a nice sort of essence to the sound when you keep the knob at ~5. theres also a cd/mp3 input on the front ( it works nice as a stereo : ) haha. but 1 thing i have noticed is that you can only hear the amp when youre directly in front of it, anywhere off to the side and you get just the bass tones and it sounds really quiet. and it does tend to feedback at high levels when youre not playing but thats pretty much the only bad thing i have to say about it except the weight is a killer! it does weigh around 50 lbs probly 60 between the cables and stuff i have in the back of it and it is a PAIN to drag around. and i hate to end on a bad note but this is getting a little long adios
