D-standard Tuning, Going from E-Standard to D-Standard

I have an 07' schecter c-1 classic that I would like to put into d standard. Should I be concerned about putting not even slinkies on it and dropping it? As long as I adjust for the truss rod should I be worried about anything else? Thanks for your help.

Nope, you're going the right way about it.

I actually use 11s for standard tuning where most people would use them for D standard.

Even if You ajdust the truss rod ...keep in mind that string pressure on frets will change and You can get a few more cents up while playing harder. You might need to adjust the measure too - compensate lower strings tension. Try to set up the measure to the way You actually do play usually. Otherwise the setup is useless. It exaclty the same relation like going from 10's to 9's gauge. Of course people who play more than softly, will not feel it that much.
