What will be my cheapest option to buy that won't sound like trash,or should I just use my DT770 and look like Paul Gilbert?

Using your DT770 would be the best option to sound good without investing a lot of money.

From my experience, you need really expensive equipment (monitoring system + in ears). The quality of both the system and in ears is essential.

I use PSM 300 and 215 in ears but I don't recommend them , I recommend at least psm 900 and a higher in ear model but that's what I could get by now.
