Thanks monte. I can only do AP, thats what I have been concentrating this whole year. I could do legato pretty well (since its easier than AP but haven't really done any lessons regarding that (wow its been long time).
Yeah, I might have asked this a bit earlier. The lesson I am working is another AP with string skipping and 16th notes throughout with pretty wide stretches. I know its not an easy lesson but was just wondering how much time others would take if they have already done similar lessons. But frankly I guess I am just being impatient. This one is completely new to me anyway, at least wide stretching and continuous string skipping, if not tempo. This post has been edited by maharzan: Jul 23 2010, 09:00 AM |

2-3 weeks, you don't need 3 months!

I think you should be there soon. For things we already covered in the past - it doesn't take much time to get up to speed (back in shape). But when you change something like shapes, playing 8th or 16th notes etc you do need to practice that separately (starting slowly). Generally if you can play it clean and comfortably on one tempo you don't necessarily have to start that much slower than that in the next practice session (day). I think you are nearly there and after few weeks you should master it if you stick with the practice. With things like this , technique just gets "unlocked" next day without knowing it - you can play it well (without expecting)l !
So keep practicing and you will get there! -------------------- For GMC support please email support (at) guitarmasterclass.net

Every new micro-movement needs rehearsing and time to settle in the muscle memory. Both hands need to be synced perfectly, specially for higher tempos and short notes. Take your time, it will come, you can already see the progress, and evaluate the timeframe needed to play it without mistakes. Once you get to that level, you need more time to settle things enough so you can give yourself a chance to relax your hands and have full control over the tone.
