Sometime we all need to chill out and take a break from the routine of life.. or just stress and issues etc.. I'm sure most of us like a change of scenery to help us relax.. some may just need to chill out to some music, without going anywhere..

I usually find going out for some fresh air, walking up a hill fort is a good way to get away.. how about you ? Is there a typical place that always makes you feel re-charged ? smile.gif

Yes, of course smile.gif it's a pristine place in the mountains, where men haven't tampered with nature (yet) that's where, as a kid, I used to sleep in the forest, go fishing or simply pick berries and admire the majestic cliffs smile.gif

I like to take regular city breaks and go to a near place in where the air is fresh and most important its quiet.
Few days over there always make me feel recharged. I don't know what it is but somehow noise of the city really affects me. When I go to a place where there is no noise - it makes a huge difference for me.

Of course there is. For me its Topkapı Palace. I live in İstanbul and Topkapı Palace has an amazing Bosphorus view.

Right next to where I live there is a greenway that weaves through the forest. I usually go there once or twice a week for a jog. Its relatively secluded and the smell of the forest is relaxing. Theres all kind of wild life out there such as beavers, deer and owls. Because its a protected area there are a lot of deer, its not uncommon to see up to 10 in a group.

Being exposed to nature is a great way to get away from the grind that is modern civilized life. Maybe its because subconsciously we are as humans returning the our natural state of being, the place where we have evolved for millions of years.

That's all really interesting stuff, those places sound great.. I can see the appeal of living in acity because of the buzz of life etc, but I would only enjoy it for a short visit rather than a constant everyday.. it's no wonder people like to get away to the quiet. Amazingly I know poeple who are genuinely intimidated at the idea of being in the country smile.gif

Visiting a quiet beach and gazing over the ocean horizon works for me.
Watching space documentaries work for me as well. It's a very humbling experience and really takes you away from day to day petty things/ thoughts.

It is in the country, but we live on the side of a main road just down from a crossroads (where else d'ya think I sold my soul ?) surrounded by a spread out village.. so although we get traffic all day, we're right in the country smile.gif

There's a magical place full of monkeys riding unicorns, rainbows, fairies and fluffy bunnies that talk to you!

Then wake up, almost vomit, and wonder where are we!

Lucky country people. tongue.gif That's just what I need. I could blast my amp and no one would hear me. sad.gif

Unfortunately, I live in the flat farmlands, with deadly chemicals all around us...yes, I say that stuff they spray for the mosquitoes and plants kills people over time. wacko.gif We hope to move away some day when the time is right.

I usually just play guitar and I feel a whole lot better. If it's guitar I need a break from, I emerge from my room and get to know my family again. laugh.gif Yes, I spend hours at a time in my room playing guitar. biggrin.gif

I don't get out much. It's hard with the mosquitoes. That happens when it is warm outside. You have to wait until it's cold, but then it's no fun...brrrr...

Of course, if you walk in the neighborhood, it's not so bad...but I don't get out much.

I used to live in the suburbs, and the air was fresh and there was very little noise. I moved to the city center just a while ago, and I gotta say, noise is the biggest problem around here sad.gif

I like going to country whenever I have the chance because of this, and it really does wonders smile.gif
