last night while i was talking to my freind who has been playing guitar for about four years, i found out he didnt know what things like alternate picking were and that he did not use a metronome. i sent him links for lessons from sites like UG for alternate picking(yes i have showed him gmc but he does not want to pay) and i looked for instructions on how to use a metronome.

if you look at the note values (hints section) they are different from how they are taught in kris' metronome lesson. i have been wondering if its just another way to do it or if one way is right or wrong.

ok so when i first started playing guitar i got an epiphone sg special starter set. after about a month the amp that came with it blew. so i go too a music shop with my uncle and he pretty much buys my new amp for himself so he plug a mic into it (even worse he cant sing.)its a 100w mg series marshall which is way bigger than i need and it dosnt even sound good. so then about two months ago my new amp stops switching chanels so i bring it in to get repaired. after a waiting a long time we called the place and find out they had it listed under the wrong name and phone number. it takes me 2 weeks to be able to go there and get it, and after i get it back im missing my cable and my mom dosnt want to drive me back to the shop which is like a 40 minute drive to buy a new one. so after going thorough all of this i still dont ge to use my amp. sad.gif

ok so back in febuary the amp that came with my starter kit thing stoped working and i had a post asking what new amp i should get

i was going to try one of those roland amps but when i got to the store my uncle forced me to look at marshalls. my uncle wanted to be able to hook a mic up to it so he buys me this without really leting me try it ( payed about a $100 less though)

i get it home and it wasnt even that great sounding(could have to do with my guitar to though). so a couple of months pass and i was playing my guitar unpluged most of the time and he used it more than me and today he was sinnging with the mic and now this amps not working theres no sound at all. is there any thing u think i can do or sould i just bring it back and get a different one (if so could u suggest some) thanks id appreaciate it if you hellped. i think i have bad luck with amps
