Hi,

I have several apps on my ipad that I really like,i.e. positive grid jamup pro and bias, amplitude, etc.

I have tried both the irig pro and the line 6 sonic port, both I believe are as new as you can get, and I find no matter what guitar cable I use or guitar for that matter, and whether I am using monitors or headphones the sound of the string attack is very pronounced, like plunky, almost like I'm playing country music. It is more obvious when I'm playing clean, but this sound is completely ruining it for me, I just can't get into playing, I keep focusing on the harsh plunky sound.

I have tried lowering input, output, different cables, both ipad 4 and iphone 5c and no success. Is there something that I am missing is this an inherent issue with all these devices? Listening to youtube videos I did not get the impression this was an issue at all.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi, so I sold my epiphone les paul custom and want to replace it
Here is sort of what I am looking for:
price: under $1000 USD
play clean, blues, heavy rock, not interested in active pickups at all
24 frets
Fast neck
Would prefer coil tapping not necessary
I would also like a trem but something that is manageable and not complicated, ie not an original floyd, I can live without the trem though
Here is a list of guitars I am considering
PRS SE Custom 24
ESP LTD EC 1000 - with the seymour ducans
ESP LTD MH 1000
Shecter Solo 6
Epiphone Les Paul Prophecy GX
I also want a guitar with proper fret markers, I really like the look of the Schecter C1 Classic but I wouldn't be able to locate frets with that thing haha
There are also a few Ibanez models I'm looking at but it seems they all use cheap pickups

Can anyone suggest any other models to look at because I'm heading into Toronto on the weekend where they have a much bigger selection of guitars

Cheers!

Hey everybody, check out these new amps by fender. The Bandmaster and deluxe have the same guts, it's just that the bandmaster is a head and deluxe is a combo, both 40 watts, classic blackface clean, true tube overdrive which is placed at the latter stages of the circuit in order to give a much more aggressive tone similar to the drive on the super sonic, plus it has delay and chorus, all footswitchable.
I think this is my next amp, my local store is getting one in a couple of weeks. Here's a couple of youtube vids:

Hi everybody,

I am looking into replacing the pickups in my new american strat deluxe, I want something a bit different than what the noiseless SCN pickups offer. I like the noiseless part, I just find I need something with a bit more bite and twang to it. I'm not looking for a metal pickups, I am looking for something that gives a hot strat sound without the noise, ie the closest I can get to texas specials but staying noiseless.
I have looked online and seen a lot of offerings form seymour duncan, dimarzio, and fender, I think I'm going to steer clear from the fender ones.
The ones I am looking at right are the following:
Dimarzio area 61 and 58
Dimarzio cruiser
Dimarzio chopper

There's a couple more dimarzio's that seem great and a few seymour duncans as well, you can see why I'm having a hard time figuring this out. And don't get me started on which pickup goes on which position wink.gif
I also plan on buying a mexican tele and want to put in some new pickups as well, with the same type of sound

Does anyone have any first hand or second hand knowledge of any of these pickups, or which one's really hotrod a strat but still sound like single coils? I know these are humbuckers but apparently they are supposed to sound like single coils.
Thanks for any help
