Thanks Muris.

Common you got all that gear after so much 'adventure' and now you are not using it? biggrin.gif That happens to me as well.. but you should use it. If a master like you don't use this great unit, how am I expecting to use this? Thats a big question to me now.

I am glad you liked the tone. I am loving it!! Still need to explore loads and how to save presets. need to come up with a REC soon with the tone haven.

I don't think I will change the power supply as I don't want risk it. The 300W converter I got worked okay so for time being I will just stick to it. I will think about it if I take this gear for a live GIG (maybe never)smile.gif

BTW, are you back or still travelling?

The triaxis I got has JJ tubes (don't know what exactly) The seller said JJ tubes. smile.gif But its been there for like 1.5 years I think.

Thanks (I saw me mentioned there at the end.. ahah). I am playing around and haven't had much sleep.. lol Its my new baby! I can't seem to get a good tone yet.. I am reading the manuals too. I need to really learn how to get THE tone, equilizing etc. But for now, I just got the triaxis and nothing more. I will play around and see what I can come up with.

Thought I would reply to your post in the other topic here since it relates to your tone and questions in particular ... I feel like a rambunctious bunny hopping back-and-forth from one topic to another! laugh.gif

Well from what I hear there on your demo ... you probably bypassed a lot of the problems I had. You have JJ's pre-installed. I am yet to swap out the stock tubes (i.e. cheap as chips) that came with the unit when I bought it new. A lot of users have gone the JJ route and have been happy with the results and I am looking to be next in line. Hehe. Reminds me of the Nevermore track .... tongue.gif

From what I understand, preamp tubes don't need to be replaced nearly as often (if ever) as power amp tubes. So you should be fine with the tubes you already have in the Triaxis. Especially, since you have stated earlier that you are mainly using it for more light duties in the studio or practise.

Just a further note. I found the manual was fine but didn't really help me solve any issues I had. Only trial and error had the biggest impact. Given, the programming depth of the Triaxis is as deep as the Atlantic ... I think you have quite the time ahead of you! ... biggrin.gif

Oh! And be prepared. You will NEVER find "The Tone" you seek ... just an approximation of some sort.

Ah! Thanks for posting. Interestingly, I was just looking at the tubes right now and couldn't read it properly.. Just saw S and 83 and was searching on the JJ site and its ECC 83S. Cool.

Yep, its always trying to find the TONE.. I have had that a lot of time. Actually, I have been spending more time finding THE TONE than actually practising.. lol. Hopefully, I will get there.

I will play around with it tomorrow.. didn't have much time today. First, I need to get back the default factory settings and then will move forward to finding more of my own tone.

Well I bought this Engl combo which is much easier for me to transport
and hook up everything, that's all, Triaxis is great and you'll have
lot of fun time using it, no doubt. smile.gif

Indeed, power amp tubes burn much faster,
for preamp tubes it lasts much longer, year or 2, depends on use.
Once you notice that you miss some gain or you have tiny noise
it's time to check them or replace, which won't happen that soon, stay safe. smile.gif
