I have no friends other than my family. I consider my band-mates acquaintances at best in that I don't hang out with them outside of band practice. My best friends are my wife, my kids and my guitar, in that order.
When I go to open mic, I have lots of great acquaintances that I love to talk to and hang out with after I'm done playing, but that relationship pretty much stops at the door because I work full time, have a family that gets to see me about 2 or 3 hours a night due to my work situation, and I practice the rest of the time. There really is no room for ongoing friendships outside of that for me, which I suppose is one reason I enjoy posting on this forum - I get real human contact, kind of!! -------------------- The more I practice, the more I wish I had time to practice!

Good topic! In the past I became more and more closed with people that doesn't share the same interests... nowadays I'm becoming more open to different people, people with different interests than me but with passion and love for something... I can feel how much I can learn and how much energy I can receive from this type of people...

Well, the nature of the job keeps us in the circle of musicians, but I like to sit down with any type of crowd, providing they are OK people. I respect any type of profession, being a professional babysiter or superstar singer. The trouble starts when people thing they are more "important" then others because they are in the music business, or listen to certain music, such a shame.

I really don't care if another person is into music or not, at all. In fact sometimes I find it interesting to talk with someone who doesn't even think about music.
But in the past it used to be different, I had my metalhead period where I thought everyone who didn't listen to metal was an idiot hahahah looong time ago -------------------- Visit my:

While we are on the topic, I must say that as people change, so does their social life. For the part of the life where I didn't have a girlfriend, I was all about partying, meeting different people (mostly single girls ), and now it's all about hanging out in good company, not being crazy (in a bad way ), and just having good quality time with people in general. Not care about that much loud music (except on rehearsals ), and do appreciate moments with my woman at home a lot. That is very valuable to me now (the most valuable thing). I hope a kid will come soon too, that would be awesome
