Just when you thought Music was safe again, in this time of Quarantine, it looks like NU METAL is trying to rear it's ugly head yet again. smile.gif Seriously though, I liked some of the NU METAL bands in the day. It started to suffer from a staggering amount of SAMENESS. As the guy in the video calls it, "DJENTY BUTT ROCK", or "BUTTCORE". Basically, mostly MESHUGGAH clones but with melodic/singing in the chorus. This started in GEN 1 of Nu Metal and is now getting worse.

DOES ANYONE LISTEN TO CORE/NU METAL HERE AT GMC?

To wit, here is KORN with a new album relase video

I think that the world needs bigger and distorted guitars so I don't think that this can be a bad thing.

I've heard many Post-Hardcore bands that found a more "mainstream" sound by getting nu metal influences. One of them is BMTH that started playing Metalcore, and their new albums sound like Linkin Park.

This is the 'nu metal' that I miss.

INCUBUS always seem more creative and expansive than many of the bands in the NuMetal genre IMHO. They have some killer songs that still hold up quite a while later. That's the real test of music. Does it endure, or does it just fade. Good pull!

Who could for get POD! smile.gif They took melody and core to spiff place. It was catchy and heavy without being as formula based as some core of the time.
