Had I been more insightful when starting out on the guitar I might have never used standard tuning though - as its logic can be questioned. I've got my guitar strung up with 11's so when I play in standard it sounds killer. I always seem to get the best tone, crunch and tightness when playing in standard, but obviously can't get that beefy sound of a drop tuning.
