Ok! I will add them. I think that we still need a "normal" lesson in the style of this band but a beginners one could be also cool.

I remember never listening this song before my teacher gave me as home work I really enjoyed playing it and helped me alot on developing muting stuff

Why not make a top 10 and see what's missing out of it in respect to what's already done here at GMC? I'm sure this can help a lot, Gabi!

I really enjoyed playing it and helped me alot on developing muting stuff What an amazing song! But it's not for beginners! That killer solo.. is awesome.

I don't know if this is something for you, but I'd like to see some progressive metal beginner lessons. Say, not all Dream Theater stuff is too advanced, most people could probably learn the first 1½ minute of Erotomania without too much trouble to give an example.

Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, As I lay dying...There's couple 5-6 level lesson but not really easy lessons.
And if someone could figure out Mr. Merrow's style. I mean he has a quite unique style of composing riffs and songs.

Ville, it's a bit difficult to get some easy structures and technique based pieces in these styles if you ask me, because more or less, all the songs are pretty challenging, because that's how the style goes... You are perhaps more versed than me in the music of Lamb of God, for instance - I only like Redneck

The same goes for this style. I'm working on Metalcore bands, not for beginners, but I will also work for easier stuff that help students to slowly explore this style.

I think your lessons are fantastic: they are cool mini-songs that sound good and give solid base of the band's style, both rhythmically and melodically. They are easy enough and yet contain difficult elements to practice.
Having said that, I went wild with the bands..
These are generally interesting I guess:
Iron Maiden - galloping + melodic solo - songs like Powerslave and Rime of the ancient mariner
Judas Priest
Black Sabbath
AC/DC
Gojira - think L'enfant sauvage
Disturbed - there is a Cosmin lesson lvl 3 already, but still ^^
Rammstein
And some less known ones:
Helloween
Manowar - think Hail to England
King Diamond
Testament
Vicious Rumours - early stuff, think Digital Dictator
Obscura - think Cosmogenesis

Cael (Ben) - the deal with progressive metal is..that the whole trick and characteristic licks that determine people to put something in the "progressive metal" box is the stuff that not necessary fir for beginner stage. I know what You mean by the parts that are not so hard in mentioned DT...but most of those parts as a standalone are not so progressive if we cut those alone from the songs. Of course You could help by adding some particular songs here and the time measure with the stuff You consider be good for beginner stage It would be helpful

As I mentioned in my answer to Weepee, a bit back in the thread - there are certain styles which require a certain context in order to be developed and thus, Beginner lessons would not make justice to those styles. Sometimes, it's like wanting to play Paganini beginner lessons
