Any competitions should be highlighted as if its a GRAND thing, meaning a full middle section of the site if possible. I know the prizes were great! This is true and I agree. This website is going to hit the web with complete new design very soon and I believe that many of the things you mentioned will be fixed. I know when the poll is open (any poll) we only see 30-60 votes and the website has over 7000 members. Many of those people probably don't want to be active on the forum but only learn lessons at home. It's really their right to chose whether they want to be active. I agree that we should see more people here but hopefuly the brand new redesign will fix much of that. -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

The wiki frontpage & GMC Journal are updated very often and show the latest things going on at our site.
By the looks of the upcoming GMC design there's a good chance that part of those updates might be automatically imported onto GMC homepage, thus making it more "alive". There's a screenshot showing some community / GMC knowledge base content which looked really cool. I also believe knowledge base is a much more accurate term for the wiki these days since it's gathering community resources, news & articles alike -------------------- Guitars:
Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster, Ibanez RG2570MZ, Epiphone SG G-400 Amp: Vox AC4TVH head + V112TV cab Effects: Vox Satchurator, Vox Time Machine, Dunlop CryBaby, Boss MT-2, Boss CE-5, Boss TU-2, Boss ME-70 Recording: Line-6 POD X3 + FBV-Express, Pandora PX5D GMC wants YOU to take part in our Guitar-Wikipedia! Imo if GMC is marketed as a "guitar based community" rather than a video guitar lesson archive, it would encourage others to be more active.
Also, if GMC was made to be the complete "GuitarSpace" or "AxeBook" then it would encourage a legion of Google guitarists to join. Finally, if a "limited" account was made which would be free which would allow limited access to the videos and forum and full access to the "YouGuitar" section of this site, more legions would follow. Enough of the rant and social network jokes. Check out this site for a sort of idea of what I'm talking about. BTW: it's a language learning site. -------------------- Yesterday my fastest speed was 300 bpm - on a whole note exercise.

I think all these should be resolved with the new design (which I'm dying to see in action btw )
