Hi guys! This last months we have been working hard on the pre production of my band Cirse's new album. I produced the second album but this time we decided to work with a producer called "Martin Herrero". We are now arranging the songs and checking structures, melodies, lyrics, etc... the idea is to reach the studio with everything very defined. We will record drums on May 9th & 10th, maybe we will record basses at the same time. Then we have the guitars and vocals. The release date is 23 August, so we will have to work very hard to have it finished.

Another difference with the previous album is that we won't record at our studio. We will go to a very big studio here to record drums and to a studio called "LB records" to record everything else.

I will share pics and videos of the process. This is a pic taken during the last rehearsal in our studio.

Good luck mate! We have started working on our acoustic material last week, so thanks for the suggestion tongue.gif I will make up a thread with news and pics as well, from the preparations.

The final goal is to film the whole acoustic EP and 2 more songs, live at MTV Unplugged somewhere this summer.

Tell me man, have you managed to obtain sponsorships from any companies? Sounds like there's a bunch of cash involved to get you guys moving around those big studios and working with producers and everything.

MTV Unplugged?? That's awesome!! smile.gif

No, we are an indie band and we are paying everything with the money we get from concerts. That's the reason why we are playing every week nowadays, and sometimes twice a week. We have to pay for the Recording, the Production, Mixing, Mastering and Edition. The good side is that we already have enough fans that come to concerts and this makes everything possible.

Well, I "Liked" your FaceBook page then realized all the updates would be in another language.

BTW, is that a picture of you on your singer's shirt?

Best of luck with the 3rd album Gab :-).

It should be interesting to see how the larger studio manages the work flow. If you want/need any help or advice on mastering gives us a shout.

Yeah some nice stuff for recording and mixing Gab :-). Particularly like the SSL - I'm fond of SSL as I trained on one a long time ago! The GML eq is nice, as is the Tubetech comp and it's good to see a studio listing an Orban de-esser as many people don't de-ess the vocals anywhere as much as they should...

I find using de-esser very important. If you don't use it, you can find then an issue during the mastering. At least that's my experience with mixes.
