Try doing some ring-pinky trills. They help build up your pinky strength quite a lot.

There are many series for finger exercises on GMC. Any of them would be useful. I would advise that you involve pinky in everything that you played before with 3 fingers. Start slowly and get your pinky "up to date"

Hey,
If you've only been playing in the minor pentatonic scale, it would have been almost impossible to develop strength in your pinky, since, as you said, you've only used 3 fingers. I suggest you move on to playing the natural minor (aeolian) or major (ionian), or any other mode for that matter, where you have 3-notes-per-string patterns. Just improvising in these scales will automatically give a stronger pinky. Of course, if you want to max out pinky power, do Muris' lesson, and do trills in general. I actually stumbled upon a video where John Petrucci talks about fingers strength and speed... Check it out, maybe you'll learn something from it too ! You should pay extra attention from 4:16, where he starts mentioning "dexterity between [the ring and pinky fingers]". Hope it helps ! -------------------- My YouTube Channel
